Our programs begin with 45 minutes of personal fitness training and cool down with a 15 minute rejuvenating and relaxing Thai massage. Thai massage is a naturally balanced program consisting of passive and assisted deep yoga-like stretches, and gentle pressure along energy lines and acupuncture points. The effect is uniquely relaxing and energizing.
Thai Massage, performed over loose fitting clothing, pulls and stretches the muscles leaving the recipient relaxed. Stretching movements, done in a rocking and rhythmic pattern, very slowly, can free life energy forces that flows along channels called sen. These channels can become blocked or constricted by muscles that have become tense or even shorter from misuse, from over working, or not being used enough. The practitioner uses body weight, hands, feet, knees, and elbows. Thai massage allows the practitioner to press on the muscles and use stretches that resemble yoga poses to balance energy levels. It is performed on a mat on the floor. No oils or lotions are used. Thai massage is often referred to as “lazy man’s yoga”.
